The Judo Ontario Board of Directors is excited to announce the 2024-25 Judo Ontario Kata Ambassadors: Shane Rooney & Bailey Hu, and Shane Legros & Dan Rusu.
This year's selection process was highly competitive, showcasing the growth and dedication to kata within Ontario. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the clubs, senseis, and the Judo Ontario Kata Committee for their continued support and commitment throughout the year.
Your hard work and enthusiasm are truly inspiring, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact our new Kata Ambassadors will make in promoting and advancing the art of kata across the province.
PROGRAM OUTLINE
The Kata Ambassador program was initally implemented to support the highest-level athletes, ensuring they can continue to compete internationally as well as give back to the Ontario Kata community. The benefits to Judo Ontario include the athlete’s commitment to representing Ontario in National/International competitions, as well as specific deliverables related to giving back to the Judo Ontario community. Athletes are expected to participate in clinics, seminars and appearances at Ontario events throughout the year.
