Biography:

Born in Whitby, Ontario. Jessica started judo from a young age at Ajax Budokan Judo Club, under the supervision of her coach, Kevin Doherty. In 2012 she continued her development at the Regional Training Centre - Toronto
and became U18 World Champion the following year.
In October 2016, she transitioned to the National Training Centre to continue her progression on the International stage and has since gone on to win multiple medals on
the IJF World Tour.
In 2019 & 2020 she reached and repeated another tremendous milestone, when she ascended to world number 1 on the IJF World Ranking List. Jessica became Senior World Champion in 2021 securing her place at the Tokyo Olympic Games, where she won a bronze medal
and became the first Canadian female athlete to stand on an Olympic podium.
