Judo Ontario Welcomes New Board Members for 2026–2027

Judo Ontario is pleased to welcome five new members to its Board of Directors for the 2026–2027 term. 

The newly elected directors will serve alongside existing Board members Tony Kelly, Greg Butrey, Carline Young and Danial Reis. Together, the 2026–2027 Board of Directors includes:

  • Linda Maselli-Jackman — President

  • Tony Kelly — First Vice President

  • David Bailey — Treasurer

  • Vitaliy Polyanskyy — Vice President, Technical

  • Danial Reis — Vice President, Competition

  • Carline Young — Vice President, Administration

  • Greg Butrey — Vice President, Marketing

  • Małgorzata Lampman — Director at Large

  • Natasha Monkman — Director at Large


Meet Our Newly Elected Board Members

Following the 2026 Annual General Meeting, the new Board members bring a diverse range of experience in judo, governance, finance, technical development, public service, law, and organizational leadership. Their combined expertise will support Judo Ontario’s continued work to strengthen and grow the sport across Ontario.


Linda Maselli-Jackman — President

Linda Maselli-Jackman brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in public education and the Department of National Defence, with expertise in strategic planning, policy, governance, and organizational leadership.

Linda has been actively involved with Judo Ontario for several years, including serving as Vice President of Regions/Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Chair of the Governance Committee, Chair of the School Programs Committee, and Chair of the Sport Promotion Committee. She is also a Sandan, Regional Referee, and nationally certified kata judge, and has been a longtime coach and leader with Peel Judo Club.


David Bailey — Treasurer

David Bailey is a Chartered Professional Accountant with more than 35 years of executive financial leadership and strategic advisory experience across a range of industries, including construction, real estate, hospitality, manufacturing, and professional services.

He brings extensive experience in financial governance, strategic planning, budgeting, risk management, and board leadership. David has also served as Treasurer and Board member for several community organizations.

A lifelong judoka who began training at age 11, David holds the rank of Shodan and is looking forward to bringing his financial and governance expertise to Judo Ontario.


Vitaliy Polyanskyy — Vice President, Technical

Vitaliy Polyanskyy brings more than 25 years of high-performance judo experience as an athlete and coach. An Olympian who represented Ukraine at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, Vitaliy is a multiple-time Canadian National Champion, European Championships medalist, and Grand Slam, Grand Prix, and European Cup medalist.

Since immigrating to Canada in 2010, Vitaliy has served as Founder and Head Coach of Taifu Judo Club. He is also an IJF Academy Certified Coach and holds the rank of Yondan.

As Vice President, Technical, Vitaliy will contribute his experience to athlete development, coach education, technical programming, and performance pathways across the province.


Małgorzata Lampman — Director at Large (3-Year Term)

Małgorzata Lampman has been involved in judo for 30 years and holds the rank of Yondan. She has served as Chair of the Judo Ontario Kata Committee since 2022 and is an IJF-certified kata judge in all seven official kata.

In addition to her extensive judo and officiating experience, Małgorzata is a Provincial Officer with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks and brings experience in public service, project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and program development.

Her judo experience includes judging at Canadian National, Pan American, and IJF World Kata Championships, as well as mentoring provincial and national kata judges.


Natasha Monkman — Director at Large (2-Year Term)

Natasha “Tash” Monkman is a third-generation judoka with deep roots in Ontario judo. Her grandfather, Sensei Bill Gribben, founded Kiichi-Sai Judo Club in Whitby in 1966, and Tash began training at the club at a young age. She earned her Shodan in 1998.

Tash is a lawyer specializing in pensions, benefits, and compensation and is Chair of the Pensions, Benefits and Compensation Practice Group at Hicks Morley. She also serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute.

After returning to the tatami in 2024, Tash has resumed training, coaching, and competition and joined Judo Ontario’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee in 2026. She brings her legal, governance, and lifelong judo experience to her new role as Director at Large.


Thank You to Our Outgoing Board Members

Judo Ontario would also like to recognize and thank the members of the Board of Directors whose terms are concluding.

In particular, we extend our sincere appreciation to Brian Kalsen, President; Heather West, Vice President – Finance; and Justin Chan, Vice President – Operations, who have reached the end of their respective term limits. We also thank Kevin Doherty for his many years of service to the Board of Directors

Their time, leadership, knowledge, and commitment have contributed to the continued development of Judo Ontario and the judo community across the province. We are grateful for the work they have done on behalf of our members, clubs, athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers.

Judo Ontario looks forward to building on this work with the incoming Board and continuing to support the growth and development of judo throughout Ontario.
