Judo Athlete Suspended for Presence of Testosterone

Judo Ontario was disappointed to learn of Ontario judoka, Youssef Youssef’s anti-doping rule violation which has resulted in a four year sanction by The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES).  Judo Ontario is strongly opposed to all forms of doping and as a result of this, will plan to further integrate anti-doping awareness and education into our programming.  Under the sanction, Youssef Youssef “is ineligible to participate in any capacity with any sport signatory to the Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP), including training with teammates.”[1]

The CCES press release can be found at www.cces.ca/news/judo-athlete-suspended-presence-testosterone.  A copy of the full decision can be found at www.crdsc-sdrcc.ca.

Judo Ontario is committed to working collaboratively with Judo Canada and the CCES to ensure integrity and fair-play for the entire judo community.
