Burlington’s Tracy Angus Named October 2009 Ontario Coach-of-the-Month

Being able to recognize the positive contribution and life changing impact a coach can have on their athletes, no matter their age or skill level is what has made Tracy Angus stand out as October’s coach of the month.  For the past 23 years Tracy has been involved in coaching Judo at The Full Circle Judo Club in Burlington.  She has coached athletes at all levels from community grass roots to the elite level. Tracy believes that it is important to follow a healthy life style and behave in an ethical manner in order to be a positive role model for the athletes she coaches, “I believe it inspires my athletes to do the same, which creates a high and sturdy platform for my athletes to excel in the sport”.

Tracy’s greatest joy as a coach is to see her athletes move through life “off the mats,” seeing them excel in the challenges and joys of life.  In the future, Tracy would like to reach out to the children within her community and introduce them to “Active Aldershot’s Children’s Sports program.  A program focused on developing confidence and physical literacy with the hope of empowering Children to choose an active and healthy lifestyle.
