5th place for Priscilla Gagne

Friday September 9th, 2016

With the Paralympic Games underway in Rio this September, we have our athletes competing for glory.

Ontario athlete Priscilla Gagne placed 5th in the -52kg category when she lost the Bronze medal match. She fought hard and well against internationally experienced opponents from Algeria, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

After losing the bronze medal match to the Uzbek by a minor score and a penalty, they showed proper sportsmanship on the mat in congratulating eachother.

Priscilla was a crowd favourite in the competition, everyone in the stadium cheering for her.
A brazillian local volunteer even took a steps to make the Canadian feel at home in her first major international tournament.

"It's really overwhelming to know that there's so many people out there who are watching and are impacted in some way." - Check out the CBC article and video http://www.cbc.ca/sports/paralympics/rio-falls-in-love-gagne-1.3754364

Congratulations Priscilla for good fights and sportsmanship!
