Congratulations Antoine Bouchard!

Sunday August 7th, 2016

A fifth place finish for the -66kg athlete, Antoine Bouchard!

Today, with a string of four wins and 2 loses, 21-year old Antoine placed fifth, losing the bronze medal match to the three time world champion and London 2012 olympic bronze medalist, Masashi Ebinuma of Japan.

“I managed to eliminate some high seeds today,” said Bouchard. “Without a doubt, these were some of the most important victories of my career. Of course it pains me a little to lose, but I am proud of what I’ve done today.”

Congratulations also to Ecaterina Guica, in the -52kg catagory.

While her day was shorter than Antoine's, her judo was still impressive. Losing her first fight to a decorated athlete from Russia, Natalia Kuziutina, Ecaterina reminds us that the Olympics are the top level of international competition.
