Friday February 27th, 2015

Team Ontario has an awesome day on the second day of competition in Prince George at the 2015 Canada Winter Games.

Brothers Mohab and Shady El Nahas each dominated their division to win a gold medal in the -81kg and -90kg weight classes respectively.  In the -100kg class, Kyrylo Sozin won all of his matches decisively to claim the gold medal.  This gave Ontario three out of the four men’s gold medals on day 2.

Ontario women also gave stellar performances with Allayah Copeland getting a silver medal in the -78kg class.  In the -70kg division, Alina Fusch won a hard fought silver medal.

Brianna Trumble helped Team Ontario gain flag points with her 4th place finish, as did Teodor Bularda who fought hard but did not secure a medal standing.

Day 2 results bring Judo Ontario’s overall medal count to five gold, three silver and three bronze medals.

Team competition will take place on Saturday!  Go Team Ontario!
