Judo Ontario once again sent a strong team to the Quebec Open and reached the medal podium 56 times in Montreal.   Ontario athletes captured 17 gold, 15 silver and 24 bronze medals in a field that attracted over 800 competitors.

This being Judo Ontario's 1st National Qualifier for 2011, the results for Team Ontario were very good.  Many Dojoshu's and Club coaches took the time to attend this year's event, making it the largest in history.  With a large delegation from Brazil the tournament was packed with talent.  There were many exceptional matches and the results should motivate everyone to be at their best for the Ontario International Open scheduled for November 20-21, 2010.

Congratulations to all those that participated and thank you to the personal coaches and to Judo Ontario coaches: Bob Zettl and Tracy Angus.

“The Quebec Open” was a tremendous success for our Team” said Brian Kalsen, President of Judo Ontario.   “The results from the Quebec Open provides a solid foundation for our athletes and a serves as a confidence booster for the remainder of the judo season”, continued Kalsen.
